Ah, thanks. 'Tis as i thought then. Ho hum. At least Netflix is helping make the good stuff available, even if we don't really know how many people are watching.

Why it's being remade? My guess - a lack (or shunning)of new ideas and an assumption by the network that the original version wouldn't play well with American audiences.

The original Aussie version of The Slap was excellent. Intelligent, thought provoking and divisive. Hope the new one does it justice.
