Maybe it is out of character for him, I don't know him so I might be wrong. But I think it's a good strategy for someone who is new in office to warm up to public by showing he is "cool" and that he can accept a joke on him.

He is accepting the joke on his account, it's the best thing anyone can do when someone is poking fun at you. Come on, there is so many real evil things to focus on in Trump's administration.
