The first season with 18 eps was perfect. The 2nd season, despite being parceled into 3 acts, was very rushed.

It took me a while to watch them because the marketing was awful and the premises were weird, so I get where you're coming from. But if you're looking for well rounded female characters and friendships, I highly recommend Jane.

Car product placement never seems to bug me as much. I don't know if it's because seeing car logos is an everyday thing or the way I've been conditioned to watch TV, but it's never jarring the way "look at this covergirl mascara omgggg" is.

I also enjoyed his "sad face" selfies he was taking while looking for Polly.

Granted I don't know about the superhero CW shows, but Jane the Virgin and Crazy-Ex both have excellent representations of women and female friendships. (Though I definitely want to see more Betty/Veronica friendship. I feel like they gave up on that development in episode 4.)

Of course! I think the most hostile shot of this entire show was Josie with the mascara tube last episode. I just feel like these are two shows with very in-your-face product placement, and it's interesting to see the similarities/differences.

What is worse: Jane the Virgin's Target product placement or Riverdale's Covergirl product placement?
