Unfortunately, they also had to cut much of the quieter, character-building scenes and storylines that made the show as good as it was. It had grit and darkness back then. Now it's a more cut and dry action/thriller series. But there's no doubt that the streamlined story has helped it immensely as well.

Same here, definitely. I was visibly and audibly shocked by how this episode ended. Everything just sort of came down on Jack in those final minutes. The Russians, the Chinese, and World War Three. It's not even a threat anymore, Cheng has already destroyed that carrier!

For any 24 fan, I can't fathom Cheng's return not having a big effect on you.

How is Logan and Novick praying fat? First of all, it's one scene. Second, you don't think that was pretty clearly in line with the story at that point? Logan was literally sitting and waiting knowing his wife was gonna die. If he was even vaguely religious, now was the time to get on his knees.
