In terms of 'slow core' (or whatever you want to call it), Low was better than Seam. Seam was an isolated Chicago nuance, not a greater movement.

Hot Water Music, in the late 90s, was right out of your own hometown and more akin to Slint than any Athens bands. Hope you caught them because they were great.
