If the Black male RACIST stereotypes of being in a criminal gang, going to jail and wearing an orange jumpsuit are given to Black Gorillas, why aren't the cops portrayed as PIGS? I guess THAT would be offensive.

That summation of the film is flawed: A.A.Dowd fell for the manipulator in the film as strongly as any character in the film. That character had immediate recognition and began manipulating that situation immediately.

The trailer can't give away any of the stuff that flips this genre on its ear. If you do see it, apply this filter to your understanding: the character that turns out to be the biggest fink was lying from the very beginning. There was no forgetting, recognition was instant. THANK YOU! "Nolanifying" is the perfect term. I was thinking "Blade Runner," but that wasn't quite right. In the kids cartoon, F4 characters were constantly ribbing each other. Trank wasted a spectacular cast.

I just don't understand how F4 movies are so lame when I enjoyed the cartoon so much as a kid.

I think it's because the cast is amazing and the film is such a dud: no fun whatsoever.

That is an error, as is A.A.Dowd's estimation of the characters. This is a brilliant film about a mean-spirited manipulator and A.A.Dowd fell for that character's well-practiced deception as much as anyone in the movie.
