Article provides opportunity for the A.V. Club to once again demonstrate that it is largely comprised of 11-year old boys.

I loved the look of the timer, too. A cheap metal box slapped onto the side of a warhead. It would've been better if they'd actually used some duct tape.

So, White Canary's outfit is awful, right? It's bad enough that it doesn't do much for Caty Lotz's attractive figure or her complexion, but that dingy grey color just makes me wonder why they don't have the damned thing dry-cleaned. Maybe that's why she spent most of the episode in different (far more appealing)

Where indeed…

A "Manson" family movie? Great! I've been looking forward to a Manson movie that I can take my kids to!

It's not just this show. The same reviewer covers "Agents of SHIELD," and has the same pattern of over-magnifying what he perceives as flaws, while paying short shrift to the quality of any given episode. It's sometimes as if he's watching a completely difference show than we are.

The hawkpeople stuff puts this episode firmly in the "B" territory alone. Hopefully the Carter death will solve that problem going forward, otherwise it will continue to drag the show down. I also agree that the Savage persona is underwhelming. This two-bit arms dealer is really the "Big Bad" that the whole conceit

I fully agree. I was so happy for the show when Hawkman was killed off, so I'm really disappointed to hear that he'll be back in some form. I think the show would work better with just Hawkgirl, but the Hawkman stuff is the worst, both in terms of content and acting.

I was thinking the same thing during the fight sequences, but then I saw Cold's gun blow some guy backwards in a cloud of frozen mist, so that was something…

You guys gotta stick to what you know, and that ain't sports. Never, EVER call them the "Michigan Spartans." That's just blasphemy! (I'm a Wisconsin fan, and even I know that). Also, there's a much better and more important Big Ten game on tonight, Maryland v. Iowa.

“ 'Strange Visitor From Another Planet' centers around themes of family, loss, and regret with Kara as the moral fulcrum of both stories."
The very existence of this sentence a testament to the steadily increasing sophistication of this show's storytelling.

The issue I had with the facile killing of Waller was that the bad guys didn't first take the time to ensure that Lyla—who has been out of Argus for quite a while now—actually did have the vault codes they wanted. What if they changed the codes every week? It would've been more realistic for Lyla to turn around and

I thought this episode was a bit "meh." The story was thin, and Jake's saving the day with peace and love was telegraphed from the beginning (I found myself thinking of the end of Interstellar-the answer is love). All the other hijinks just felt like so much filler before Jake saves the day in a totally predictable

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED, PUNY FLESH-BAG!

Hey, don't you be calling Hawk-person, the white tweetie bird and captain something-or-other "second tier!"

I couldn't read 90 % of this article because the word "Santeria" instantly caused an uncontrolled 150 decibel Sublime 90's flashback in my brain and now I CAN'T MAKE IT STOP OHGODWHY?

I see what you did there, McDouche. Well played, my friend. *slow clap*

As a book reader, the second Holden greeted his beloved coffee-maker with childish delight, I thought to myself, "Ah, there's the Holden I know!"
Amos chiding Holden over his face being plastered on protest signs on Ceres is pitch-perfect for that character as well. That thin layer of humor spread over the underlying

Pearl to Steven upon seeing the Diamond's pearl is priceless: "We don't all know each other, Steven!"

As a long-time Wisconsinite and sometimes-resident of the City of Manitowoc, it is still fucking bizarre seeing the words "Manitowoc County" in print all over the country.
