So I've never watched an episode of this before, but after Last Week Tonight the encore of this started airing, and the "Let Your Love Flow" montage(s) kind of pulled me in, and the whole episode was…something else. Despite having only read a handful of summaries of numerous first season episodes I was completely

I think he has a bit of the Ferguson spirit in his monologues, where he's opted out of the "news story/punchline" set-up and mostly just riffs on one, maybe two topics before a lone news riff right before the credits (which he basically swiped from Report anyway). I really like that choice by him.

Funny thing, an anti-gay figure walking out of a county jail to "Eye of the Tiger" absolutely seems like a scene that would happen on a Ryan Murphy program.

I think in general, conservatives just need to realize that 98% of songs that they would want to use at a rally were probably made by artists that disagree vehemently with their politics.

A little from column A, a little from column B…

Her one-scene role in Her was also great. She's vulnerable in those few moments in a way that I had never seen from her, and her departure from the film is a heartbreaker. Something of a predecessor to her work here, actually.

Not just favorite composer - favorite Baroque composer. I knew where the joke was going just as they swerved that way, so I still laughed pretty hard, especially at Meow Meow's insistence that Vivaldi is the best.

I'm really loving this album, but over 250 comments and only one mention of "Your Type"? I mean, I'm a sucker for unrequited love pop songs, but that song is my jaaaaaaam right now.

I love D'Angelo, but the second I saw the grade on the main page I thought "gotta be a D'Angelo review."

Ooh, I like that quote. Source?

Ah yes, 'Til Death's fourth and final season. When you Google "Til Death," Todd's article about that season is the third hit! http://www.avclub.com/artic…

I can't wait for the moment when Forrest actually uses his veto for a review, only to have it followed up by something even more horrendous.

Yeah, that was the first episode of Star Trek: Voyager and I fell in love with her and the show almost immediately.

That was one of my favorite running gags of the original movie. Also when the kids with David Hyde Pierce run off screen to the left and right…and one kid runs on his own into the forest, and lingers in the shot for a good minute just running away as Pierce and Garofolo talk/flirt.

I'm so happy they changed out the opening credits this season. Last season's set was great, but a new set of only-hinted-at reviews was wonderful.

That would have been pretty smart last season with the third episode of the season, which is a hilarious name but also gives away the hilarity of the third act of the episode.

I'm a fan of the show on Facebook, and that was pretty much the only review that they were advertising before the season started, so I was super well-aware of it. Still hilarious, though.

Yeah, talk about kicking off the season with a bang!

Looks like The Revenant will have competition next January for "movie with most bearded leading men."
