I really thought the picture for this post was gonna be GTA V.  Making $1 billion within three days ain't no joke, and certainly more noteworthy than the Emmys.

Breaking Bad won.  I feel silly admitting this, but I actually cried.

I was so excited to see Hugh Dancy in the audience and then I remembered it's only because his wife is in a big hit TV show that Emmy voters actually watch.

:(

But you don't understand!!  If we didn't have a handsome white man leading us through this rough and tough underworld, how would we "normal" and "regular" 'Muricans be able to relate??

Planet B-Boy isn't great cinema like, I dunno, Hoop Dreams, but it does a lot of things right: the battles are shot well, it gives a fascinating glimpse into the subculture (esp. the way it's grown out of the streets of NYC and become more global), and out of pure luck, they got a really great story arc because of who

My brother is a bboy and some of his buddies* were in the movie.  Apparently the production team claimed that they wanted to make it really authentic and portray the bboy community accurately but once they actually started the shoot it was just a mess and there were a lot of people from the production team meddling

Yeah, I can't give a positive ID. I'm pretty annoyed with myself about this!

It was pretty fun, and it was less than 90 minutes of my time.  I'd go for it!

Oh!  You're in a band?  What do you play?

That fucking accordion interlude.  So badass.

Thanks for talking about Peaky Blinders, I've been curious about it.  I wonder if it'll make it over to the US.

Great episode to watch with your family, huh?

Yay, happy b'day!

Oy.  I hope this shit doesn't drag out.  What a fucking bummer.

Only one left?  Prepare to be disappointed!

I hear you.  I have a lot of secular Jewish friends and most celebrate the high holidays.  I can actually understand the imperative, too.  I mean, the Jewish population was decimated and I know some people feel compelled to honor their heritage that way, that it's one way to "never forget."  But it's like, if you

OMG that bit with the dog.  That was A++
