Passed that typewriter store a million times in Berkeley and always wanted to go in…

Chili over rice, Hawaiian style. So great.

A Fish Called Wanda is way too low. Incredible script.

As someone who was born and raised in Hawaii (I'm half white), I'm less concerned about the use of Aloha than the fact that cast seems awesomely homegnous. It IS constantly disconcerting and frustrating to see movies portray Hawaii (or any other "exotic" location) as a fun house/simple place where lessons can be

I loved David Edelstein's review of Pacific Rim. He said they made the wrong movie, and that the more interesting movie would have been Earth's response to the first Kaiju attacks and the creation of the Jaegers. As it was, I was not invested in the world of Pacific Rim, in addition to its many cinematic and

I dunno, I thought this was pretty good when it was Seven Samurai…

It's no barnburner, but Alex Chilton's solo in "September Gurls" perfectly encapsulates the song and is made-up of 100% pure joy.

Yeah, McCartney's solo is rad on Taxman. And his bass on that song — and pretty much every Beatles song — is killer.

Completely agree with you. "Marquee Moon"'s solo (and pretty much all the solos on the album) serve a purpose and fit musically in the song. Noodling and wanking do nothing for me. I couldn't care less how fast or intricately a guitar player can pick out meaningless notes.

Where's the love for Steve Shelley? He's such a great drummer. Not flashy at all, always finds texturally wonderful and perfect drum parts for each song, yet is still able to rein in Thurston and Lee. Plus, if you see him live, he's smiling the whole time, still looking like the baby-faced guy on the cover of EVOL.

I love that 99% of comments are about Citizen Kang. I don't think I've watched a Treehouse of Horror episode in more than a decade, and it looks like the rest of you haven't either. Or if you did, you didn't remember it.
