I think the writer's have no care for the big picture things like that. They saw an opportunity to make Ramsey look more insane and took it over considering what the ripple effects would be. The Ramsey stuff totally took away from the Red Wedding and made it pointless. They pushed the character too far. We already know he is evil, but now they just wiped out the entire strategic planning of his entire house, which discredits the series (arguably) biggest moment.

I am kind of pissed, after watching this episode, I feel like a blatant ripoff of Lost with this spinoff would have worked REALLY well. Character flashback relating to specific present-time moments.
