I don't know, I tend to get the super stressed out during the holidays, so a film with the message "You should be happy during the holidays, or you will get your whole family violent murdered by ghouls" doesn't sound that fun to me. But maybe the movie makes jokes out of this, I'm not sure.

I don't know, this season just hasn't really done anything for me. When you have people in important positions using Japanese Interment as justification for their action, making fun of "PC" just doesn't feel that fun right now.
