It's funny, watching the trailer I felt that this movie could be kinda great if it went in the weirder crazier direction as opposed to the self aware "have i ever said eating blood" direction.

Wanna join the convo quickly to just say that even though I enjoyed much of the Big Sick it suffered from weird story plotting around the stand up section of the film.

The scene where he soundchecks How to Disappear Completely to an empty stadium is one of the most amazing moments I've ever seen in a Rock Doc. I love this movie so much.

the deeper story here, I think, is pete realizing he was married because he wants to be married, not because he wants to be married to jess. Basically her comments made him realize he's not all that heartbroken.
