He was really good in that. I forgot about that one. He was the priest who was always taking smoke breaks.

Heard was always a reliable and solid character actor. He was capable of truly great work, as evidenced in Cutter's Way and The Pelican Brief. Ditto his television work, particularly his turn on The Sopranos.

That's an interesting insight. Doyle could write an effective horror story and his take on the zombie myth may very well have resembled that!

You're acting like a child!

That's what made him so terrifying. He is a primitive creature but there's still some spark left there. That's kind of what makes them so much more interesting than the zombies that followed. You can sense the lost humanity.

I love that the guy we all root for and stand behind ultimately makes mistakes. He's human. That's what makes Ben such a great character. His plan fails and gets them killed but that's because he's not some superhero. He's just a man trying to stay alive and with good intentions. That could describe a lot of us. I

The White Zombie ones were definitely dead. Lugosi says so and plus, all of them take multiple bullets in the chest without stopping. They are most certainly, the living dead!

White Zombie has a unique aura to it that rivals Dreyer's Vampyr from the same year. It feels like a silent film touched with sound. At times it resembles a Universal film(I blame the borrowed sets and Lugosi) but it is an entirely different animal. It's a slow going piece but the atmosphere is the key and Lugosi

What a talent! He was a wonderful character actor who appeared in just about anything. He was in some classics and quite a few bombs but was always a welcome presence.

Romero was likely the most important figure in the evolution of the modern horror film. His groundbreaking masterpiece, Night of the Living Dead, brought the genre kicking and screaming into a violent and chaotic era. It was an angry little movie that still packs a potent punch and is the way we view the modern

I wish Pumpkinhead was mentioned. So many roles to talk about, though!
Henriksen is one of the best tough and sinister types that one can get. He's always been a welcome presence and a wonderful character actor.

With Boris Karloff!

The episode where the little brother tries to get a haircut like "Cool Dr. Money" is of course, a masterpiece.

…and the Invisible Man just showed up for a joke and a smoke…I guess that sums up why Johnny Depp was cast in that role.

Is this a joke? "The Dark Universe?" What is this Community? What the hell is the dark universe anyway? What does that have to do with monsters? What does this entire FRANCHISE have to do with the classic monsters?

So, they hire a guy with no sense for atmosphere, character or plot. Plus, he can't direct an action sequence to save his life. They want him to follow in the footsteps of both Howard Hawks and Brian De Palma?

She sang Black Hole Sun. :(

Oh, I couldn't say that. I think "Technical Ecstasy" is weak when compared to the six that came before it but it has much to offer. The band grows a bit and those last two Ozzy albums are at least interesting, if perhaps, overly experimental.

I mean, I think it's a good record, but when I see vaunted as the band's BEST, I just don't get that. There's just nothing on there with the depth present on "Sad Wings Of Destiny" or "Stained Class." It's certainly a record with some truly classic tracks and an essential in anyone's hard rock and metal library, but

How about Love To Love by UFO? That's another one that just sprang to mind. So powerful. That's how you make a ballad kick some ass.
