Does Ezra really not recognise the Sith Code when it's being recited to him?

He probably has a public appearance he can't get out of and is trying to calm the fandom down so he doesn't get roasted alive.

The show went out of it's way to court the Clarke/Lexa faction, even going so far as to invite some of them down for filming. The circumstances veer into spoiler territory so I wont go into it but knowing what we know now I completely understand why people are furious.
