I really can't stand Martin Lawrence but man does Blue Streak really make me laugh. The supporting cast (Luke Wilson, William Forsythe, Chappelle, and Graham Beckel) are what elevate it.

You are correct. Marvel has been sorely lacking in the villain department and have been lucky to get this far, not that WB has done much better minus the Joker. Hopefully they can bring some depth to these bad guys in the next few installments a la Doc Ock who may be the best example to date.

I think Anne Hathaway might be my favorite actress working right now. Whenever I see her in something all I see is what character she's portraying.

Maybe not the first but one of the worst offenders.
