I am sincerely disappointed in the avclub that not one of you chose Kung Fu Fighting. I mean, come on, EVERYBODY was fast as lightning!

The robot from Treasure Planet?

Uh… I've got bad news for you, buddy…

So… isn't this just Tangled?

It was the best of times, it was the blurst of times?! You stupid monkey!

I especially love the "that's rough buddy" from Ronaldo- I hope the Avatar TLA reference was intentional

I think it deserved higher than a B but I understand the critiques

Well there is also the fact that the fandom absolutely loves flashback episodes

I was really hoping that the joke here would be him going up to the kids and being like "hey, do your parents have a car I could borrow?"

I'm sorry, I love Bismuth, but she tried to kill Steven. She's gonna need a bit bigger of an arc to redeem her than, say, Peridot.

Okay, so to be clear, the subtext I'm supposed to take from the Aunt Deb story is that Aunt Deb, Andy's mom, probably left or divorced Andy's dad and got hitched to a woman and took the RV? Damn, that's a lot of subtext in one line. No WONDER Andy's bitter about the lack of traditional marriage.

I do not. What DO you mean?

I'm not an expert at these things, but I don't know how you'd make a space battle like that THAT much different. Also it wasn't the emotional fulcrum of the film- that was Han's death, which was unique and engaging (although very very obviously foreshadowed).

That's how gay pride parades USED to be, kiddos.

According to Sugar, Steven would most certainly die if his gem were removed.

They are having a Tangled series.

Yeah, you're probably right

While you have to take some fan consensus into account, there needs to be some sort of line. For example, in the 2014 TMNT movie, the turtles were going to be aliens, but the fans had the moviemakers change it back. Would it have made all too great a difference to the story if they were aliens? No, but the fans wanted

My god… an even handed comment. WHERE WILL THE MADNESS END?! Er, uh, BEGIN?!

I think what the author was trying to say was that if popular consensus can change a plot point or detail, where does the line end where you are making your own interpretation of a character or just giving the audience what it wants?
