What I get from the review is that the Power Puff Girls was a perfect convergence of the comic side to superheroes (including first Batman series which was always supposed to be comic and daft really) and the intention to have superhero whoopass (it was often cited as being too violent back then…) and great villains

Oh yes… I forgot that —wait a minute!

Decoy to establish the belief Brock wasn't at home protecting Dr. Venture. But I don't think it took much to convince Shore Leave of the idea either.

Yes, but in the long run, at this point, maybe they can not work as a program made for traditional episodic seasons. It's more fitting to just keep putting out specials a bit more often. Twice a year movie format that wraps to itself at least. This was short season and despite the great episodes, it misses a sense of

Well, there was Shore Leave as Brock, but how totally unsatisfying to watch him just discover Limelight and CBGBs are long since gone. And Dr. Mrs was just TOO underused, criminally so. It should have been the episode she gets to play her hand, so we feel some reward/relief. I did enjoy watching the teaming-up bookend

"The Eileen Plan" was definitely showing Rigby and Eileen are a great match. He's simpler than Mordecai but that seems to have helped him to figure out what it takes. He's come out on top and achieving things in fact. Mordecai is conflicted when he shouldn't have to be, and it's screwed up his relationships. Although

Oh, I didn't mean those are the only options, of course, I just used harm because that's still, apparently, the pr shock-horror-drama position around discovering someone has a sextape being leaked- there is still a traditional view it harms one's career, but in fact the reality is they seem to be a career assist.

The real winner is the American tradition that assures a sextape will never harm, only prove profitable in the long run.

So many nice details in this ep, and a much different pacing in the beginning, certainly a bit more dreamlike continuity. When he met Penelope on the sidewalk and she asks about his name, the prononciation, to which "cheep" is used, and Chip says: "yeah.. like "cheap baskets"…

Also this is one character who truly doesn't need a death scene for an emmy nomination. Louie Anderson is great.

Well…. maybe Candy by the time his movie career hit as that was all one role, but she is hardly SCTV era Candy, with funny, and importantly, different characters as wonderful as Johnny Larue and Willie B…. ah, now I miss SCTV.

Agree about Bojack. Arnett's voice work has a lot of nuance and character, despite it being very immediately recognizable.

Yes, it can be that concerning the writing, but it's that search for the right combination that is the same for all actors, and it just seems he has misses in that regard. Bojack is good, but still not a live-action format which is different in some ways too.

Musically lumbering, but sure, a more challenging, advanced Cowsills… I could imagine them covering it even - and it slots nicely within the references you mentioned.

I think there is something to say here about that second-man syndrome for Will Arnett. He's very good at providing a now almost predictable special character extra to a show, but he isn't going to be able to carry one as easily. I wonder what would happen if he and Martin Short were cast in a sitcom together…

right - it definitely would have at least been Evan.

They did a great job with the ongoing discussion about who eats who on an island, and after all the deliberations between the boys, in the end, the last line goes to Louis saying how Jessica (Mom) would eat them all…. perfect.

Definitely — and the idea that the kids would NOT find that funny or cool was just way off character, based on how they are in that episode and in general. Giving all three of them that attitude of too-cool teens was lazy. It would have been great if instead all or some of them joined in with him, inspired to add

This movie has been finished and waiting release for a while, that's always a good sign. I guess they had to wait for her Princess Grace bio to grab all those awards…

I don't know why Cronenberg and now Herzog keep trying to make Robert Pattinson happen. At least Kubrick using Cruise and Kidman together when they were married still, could offer alot of inside group reading.
