Rick's been grinning a lot lately, and I love it. So much better than semi-catatonic.

I love the ears, too. The body doesn't move naturally, but that's okay because those ears make me have to reach over and caress my cat's ears.
First impressions of the new group…
I don't like the mass lack of expression.
I don't like the stilted way of speaking.
It all seems too affected.
And as for their leader, Jadis…even in a post-apocalyptic world there's no excuse for that haircut. Although I got a kick out of her being vaguely Vulcan-esque.
I'll take the flagon with the dragon…
I'm glad our reviewer mentioned the Buffy/Angel influence in this adorably silly episode. All through it, I was specifically thinking of "Spin the Bottle", the Angel episode wherein everyone was under the spell of a magic potion. That hilarious treat suddenly appeared right in the middle of a grim (no pun intended?)…
Wouldn't surprise me!
I kind of like how he's sometimes curmudgeonly, because you know that he actually takes pride in his position of family servant and being good at it. And he knows he's valued as practically family, by James and his father before him. I really like him.
Now, if he'd just wash James' night-shirts…
Bad news all around. Makes me look at some of my own relatives in a better light.
Definite generational problems, even more so than the "typical" dysfunctional family.
Yeah, that first part of my comment was just observing that they made it obvious throughout the episode that James' mother and both of her children are not stable people. Second part had nothing really to do with it except how Zilpha's mental instability could only have been exacerbated by her husband's abuse and…
Animal watch….
I think it's safe to say that madness runs in the Delaney family.
And then there was the ship-hat worn by the gentleman entertaining the street urchins down by the docks…I think it made my eyebrows go up more than the incest scene.
Put them all together, with their walks seemingly highlighted, if the scene had gone on much longer it would've started to resemble that old Monty Python bit "The Ministry of Funny Walks."
I'm a Southerner (Kentuckian, to be specific), and although we don't all speak like that I've known a few who do. Always makes me smile.
It was good to see him clear-eyed again instead of traumatized to the point of near-paralysis. You could see the gears turning in his head again.
It was. I usually enjoy the characters more than the various ways they come up with to get rid of zombies. But I have to admit the steel wire scene was interesting. That's definitely (and literally) what you would call thinning the herd.
Did anyone else think the camera angle odd during the scene where everyone was walking up the street, talking, as they were leaving Hilltop? It was at leg-level with everyone walking toward it. I was trying to listen to the dialogue but couldn't help noticing their walks…who was knock-kneed…or bow-legged…or had a bad…
Highlight of the Hillbilly Bedtime Story was when he said, "They were hongry."
He just can't let go of his community-theatre past.
Upvote for Jimmy Page mention.
