I'm starting to think Rebecca might be a good choice.

For people who keep referring to "making the marriage look real", the way Romero and Norma looked at each other at the festival sure looked like real newlyweds to me. Made my heart go pitty-pat.

That's what's so sad. Norman Bates, were he not descending into madness, is a sweet character. Early on, he was almost like a teenage version of that sweet little boy he played before. We've seen Norman's actual gentleness and kindness. That what makes his gradual transformation so horrendous.
Freddie's just terrific

Well, at least we had a non-surly/morose Enid this week. That was refreshing.

I've done that a couple of times, but it has been about three years since the last time. So I'm sure another complete rewatch is in my future.

"The Hound of the Baskervilles" was my favorite of the Sherlock Holmes mysteries when I was a kid. I do think they were making little references to it, but I also think they give little nods of acknowledgement to all of us Angel fans. They've done it in previous episodes too, especially last season. Always gives me a

I know! It made me want to go run through the woods! And there are beautiful woods nearby. But I would probably just trip and fall…get up and run into a tree…get disoriented and completely lost…run into a bear….I'd end up looking like those hikers, so…never mind.
I'll just run through the woods at night in my dreams.

Double snort.
I mean…Oh, no! Please!

Made me snort.
I'm usually too lady-like for that.

Wasn't it Connor who made some remark to Angel that although Angel was seeing Nina because she was nice and he liked her, it was really the wild-werewolf-love aspect that really turned him on? And of course Angel was adorably flustered at such a remark coming from his son. I don't remember the exact dialogue, but your

Me, too. But then my aggravation was soothed by those gorgeous shots of the moon and the night sky.
Swoon-worthy moon-shots.

Every time I'm reading comments and I come to one of yours, I have to read it twice because I'm ALWAYS distracted by the extreme cuteness of your avatar. And I do like your comments…on the second reading the content does register.
Not pertinent to anything. Just had to say it.

You're welcome! I'm a fan of music from different time periods so my head's full of music trivia, and it just pops out sometimes.

You're so right. And the title of the episode is so appropriate, going back to Whittier's famous line, "Of all sad words of tongue or pen, the saddest are these, 'What might have been' ".

I noticed that, too! The reviewer gives a different explanation for "Doyle"…Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and The Hound of the Baskervilles…but I prefer to think it was a tip of the hat to Angel's Doyle (bless Glenn Quinn's soul).

Ah-OOOOO!!! Werewolves of Portland🎵🎶

I thought the same thing. That earring was just too Bohemian for Norma's style (or sometimes, lack thereof).

Holy cow! You're exactly right! I knew he reminded me of someone, standing in that doorway.
I should've thought of that. "Aqualung", along with "Minstrel in the Gallery", is one of my favorite albums of all time…and Tull one of my favorite bands from my misspent youth. I'm so glad you made that particular light-bulb

I've watched this show since the beginning, and I'm a sentimentalist about scenes like that…so I don't know how on earth I forgot it!
You were right, I needed a tissue.
Thank you so much for posting that. I appreciate it.

Was it in a previous episode? I've watched this episode twice and didn't see it. How am I missing it?
