Those two very valid plot contrivances aside, the thing that bugs me the most is how obvious it was that her new boyfriend is going to be a villain. I can't think of any other reason why they would introduce that romantic subplot that quickly.
This weekend, every time some (likely masochistic) part of me felt the urge to see BvS, I just turned on the Justice League Animated Series until that urge went back into the abyss where it belongs.
This movie was completely lifeless. The only scene in which I broke out of my lethargic state was Gal's Wonder Woman reveal. When she dropped her arms and her soundtrack kicked in so explosively, I actually grinned. Diana was pretty much the only ember of emotion or excitement in the entire film.
They're giving out an awful lot of free showings… Can I assume that this means they're fairly confident in the film?
Which is really understandable.
