Oh, absolutely. Must be the cold in both cases…
Oh, absolutely. Must be the cold in both cases…
Ugh. you're right. Ugh.
That would have made more sense and could have been mined for comedy.
It is. And I think there's been great improvements lately. I'm thinking of Julianne Moore's make up in The Hours, as compared to Orson Welles' and everybody else in Citizen Kane. Except poor Everett Sloane, who didn't even need make up.
God yes. It's ridiculous. Must be the perks of premature balding. You always look the same because you never ever looked young on camera.
I'd say Max von Sydow has indeed looked the same for decades. Even in his early Bergman films he looked old, and he must have been in his late 20s-30s. Must be all that chess playing…
I think they might have found a visual way to convey happiness without recurring to crassy 80s materialism. But oh well, it WAS the 80s. Also, sycophant Biff always struck me as kinda creepy, cringeworthy, even for a comedy…
He's absolutely right. But even the writers admit that on the featurettes of the first dvd edition of the film.
Leave her alone. She's too good to be Bond.
No. It's funnier.
This review fails to convey how incredibly funny this film can be, if you're in the right mood. And I was. So I laughed a lot. It was very amusing. Lots of laughs. From beginning to end.
Wait, I forgot I totally hate James Bond… Never mind then…
Great actor, for sure, but… what an unimaginative choice…
The whole bloody season. I came here two years later looking for some empathy among fellow viewers… :(
He's got an amazing redemption arc played on TIE '86 and '88. Absolutely worth watching if you like the character. And he's not even the best in the series.
I totally see your point, but they're not exploitative in the least. That's why they're so brutal. There are few characters as powerful as Lol in British TV to me. And her journey continues in '88. I'm a huge fan of the series, so I try to spread the word for them…
'86 and '88 are amazing. If you like Shane Meadows you should definitely see them (you probably did by now! Hello from the future…). I haven't seen '90 year but I'm so looking forward to it.
TIE '86 is indeed emotionally draining (and myself I'm all for it), which is what makes '88 so beautiful. Give it a try some day….
Like the One Ring.
I like your analysis.
