I thought this was a great episode! They make you THINK that it's another Cartman trolling Butters episode only to turn it into a South Park trolling THE VIEWER episode! We already got a more straight up Cartman-Butters episode two weeks ago, so I was actually happy to see it get turned on its head like this.

I definitely think the Lorde callback was just to establish that there is a sort of continuity during this season, even though this episode was sort of a side story. I was hoping to find out why Butters went crazy and burnt the gym down but maybe that will come at a later episode…
