Orphan is awesome.
He was named Steven. Steven Seagull.
Awww, I loved The Shallows, I was hoping it would signal a future uptick in quality for his films. Now he's in the DC ghetto.
I'd say the series probably peaks in books three and four, there's a lot to love about the latter three but they do get bloated.
That's true, the seven years at Hogwarts make for a nice progression.
Conceptually, I don't have a problem with a longer series, it just never seems to work out. Harry Potter was an exception but they're also much simpler than ASoIaF.
The problem with ADWD is that the story's natural climax (the battles of Mereen and Winterfell) got punted to the next book (presumably for more questionable dwarf-based humor).
I like the Joe Abercrombie model, write the epic trilogy to completion then knock out a standalone story when you want to play in the sandbox again. ASoIaF got lost in its digressions.
"Well, TANKS FOR NUTTIN!"
It was a Baby Ruth.
Are you saying that the shadowy corporate entity run by Matthew Modine in the first season was actually an early incarnation of Cyberdine Systems?
I really enjoyed your informative post. I also really enjoyed that you took "Xerxes" and ran with it.
Can someone explain the PWR BTTM meme to me? I think I was sick that week or something.
I like it in theory but they don't really have any interaction prior to "and then they ended up together". My personal favorite future for Neville would be "Globe-trotting herbology professor with a girl/guy in every wizarding port".
You know, I think you're right. My last memory of them in the movie is Freeman jumping off her stoop. Mea culpa.
I enjoy both of those quite a bit. I was trying to limit myself to a top three, otherwise I'd have been listifying all day.
Yeah, Radcliffe and Lynch are excellent together. Someone put her in another movie!
