I was thinking about that too. Lawnmower man didn't exactly seem concerned about Rust in 1995. It wasn't like he was going to jump off the Lawnmower and stop Rust from entering that school, which he probably would have done if Marty hadn't called him back to his car.

Really? The school is filled with the signature/symbolism (the devil traps) found at the Lange murder scene.

There is nothing "conventional" about this show. It's the best show on television and it doesn't need Gozar the Gozarian to show up at the end to make it "unconventional" and validate nerd fan theories. True Detective is supposed to take place in the real world.
