Yes, they revamped Janine, but they did call themselves out on it in a later season episode where it turned out that Janine used supernatural means to alter her appearance in order to be more appealing to Egon, I think. I'd say that was pretty meta for a kids cartoon.

They totally retconned Laurel being the heart of team arrow all of a sudden. And same thing happened in penultimate Flash. I'd by that with the death of Diggle or Felicity, but not Laurel.
