The only Nixon movie I want to see at this point is a Macbeth adaptation.

The Elvis-Nixon photo is one of those examples where the backstory you imagine is far better than what actually happened.

Richard Nixon was endorsed by James Brown in '72.

I don't think it's fair, probably, to describe the disgust as being on account of it being "the explicitly sexual and homoerotic element" of the scene.

If we're looking at consistency, Hitchcock is probably in a category of his own. I also think that Tarantino is also not nearly as innovative as Hitchcock or a lot of other great director's. Most of his great shots/scenes seem to be homages to earlier films. There's a lot to be said for execution, but you can play

My foggy recollection is a couple of Parsons's buddies tried, but it didn't work out as well as hoped.

The theme from Laverne & Shirley, "Making Our Dreams Come True." I could imagine a great power-pop or punk version of that song.

That's a way underrated song that is harder to convincingly cover than one would think. I can imagine a band picking that song without thinking, only to regret it the moment they tried to play the intro.

Google the lyrics! There are some possibilities here…

Matthew Wilder, "Ain't Nothing Going to Break My Stride"

There is still time. All we need is a couple thoughtful people to bring a boat, gasoline, and some matches. We can do it on the fly…it's what Lemmy would've wanted.

If it doesn't involve a Viking-style funeral pyre, I'm gonna be fucking pissed.

If that's the case, it could make their sentiment about anti-piracy more understandable. If they were deliberately withheld royalties for many years, they likely a bit more sensitive to these things.

Stern shows that had Kinison and Gilbert on at the same time were hilarious. I can go back and listen to some of it and still laugh to the point that I'm in tears.

For my tastes (in order):

Is it okay to believe that Bowie is in the running for Most Interesting Man in the World and also think the songs off his new album are kinda "eh"?

Rosie Perez is another one for me.

I think it was his spoken word "Why I'm Glad the Challenger Blew Up" that started my turn of opinion against the guy. Particularly the mocking description of the little kids in schools everywhere watching several astronauts and a teacher get killed.

Thanks for the reply, FY. I'll give a listen to the garage rock stuff — I could see that being interesting.

Love those guys!
