Well, that was garbage. C- for the episode; D for the fact that it ended on a fucking cliffhanger.

The Lucas Effect. Agree totally. Home Again would have been pretty interesting as a two parter. Definitely better than Babylon at least.

Give him a break, he only had 14 years to come up with new ideas

I agree. It was a garbage episode- the writing was all over the place and the tone was weird (you have this very serious plot point about a Muslim suicide bomber surrounded by a jokey tone and a fun drug trip scene.)

I think something that the people calling this episode racist are missing is that the bomber in the hospital never detonated his bomb.

That's not something new to the series, she's always been like that. Mulder has even pointed it out.

" I assume it was to say Muslims are so bad that even loving nurses want them to die?" - I think you missed the entire point. We're not supposed to sympathize with the nurse, she's a (very poorly done) satire of bigots in the US.

Yeah, the weird, unnecessary stereotypes hurt this episode. The terrorist being the most stereotypical possible, the homeland security guy, the nurse, and the people in the car being the worst/more stereotypical racists possible…

Pretty weak episode, writing wise. Mulder's trip was fun, but a fun 5 minutes doesn't really make up for a weak 45. I disagree that the nature of the episode was "racist" though. In fact, I think you could argue that the ending was actually overly saccharine in that regard.

Great ep. New X Files classic IMO.
