I don't agree that there was a "John and Carter sitting in a tree moment" at all. Never took that to be a romantic declaration of love, but an acknowledgement of respect and, yes, love, but love for a fellow warrior who had helped save Reese's life and soul.

I trusted the show to use the song wisely, and it was a wonderful opening sequence to a terrific episode, one of the best if not THE best. I thought the whole was thrilling.

I think it was just a threat on Coventry's part. After all, if he made a stink, it would come out that he'd acted unethically (at the very least) in giving Holmes' address to Bundch, endangering the safety of Holmes and Watson. Not to mention he totally botched the initial investigation of one woman's murder that

Simmons is an arrogant monster backed into a corner. He's giving himself permission to do whatever he wants.

Agreed.

I'm not sure Reese was saying he was "in love" with her, but that he loved her and owed his life to her. Facing what looked like sure death, he wanted to get that off his chest. And a kiss doesn't have to mean you're in love.

Yes, I read that in the ew.com interview (where there is also an interview with Taraji Henson) and was surprised that Nolan and company were behind those awful promos.

Yeah, for John it was a goodbye kiss.

I too had no problem with Reese revealing his feelings to Carter. He thought he was about to die, so if not then, when? Also although I was surprised, I didn't feel it came totally out of nowhere as John has - in his own way - been flirting with Carter for some time.

I'm with you on this. As I recall, Fringe started out a bit rough with numerous things that needed adjusting, and grew into a great show, one of my favorites. I'm certainly interested in seeing how they develop this show.

I agree. It would be too predictable rather than a twist, as shown by the tons of predictions that John is a robot.

Oh boy, I sure hope not. Would not like that at all.

I must have missed that part. When was that in the episode?

And he's a presumptuous twit, overstepping some serious bounds by presenting his theory to Will of why Alicia left the firm. It's a betrayal and it's none of his business.

And self-absorbed.

A very serious betrayal.
