I don't think the Oscars should be canceled, because I don't think it will affect anything. However, if people plan carefully, they could have some effect. If each nominee chose a group, in this country or another, and mentioned it during an acceptance speech with a number or website for donations, that would help. If

I also found Thomas' actions reasonable. Of course he was upset when he first finds out about his illness. I think he's not so much upset because he's young and wants to live, but because he feels he's failed his parents (as he tells them) and more than that, the Reich. Thomas wanted nothing more than to be a model

I thought about that myself. At least it seemed the intention to bring that scene to mind, whether or not they reproduced anything else in it. The general setup, when they came in on the large table, the overhead light, the big map, etc — immediate jump to Dr. Strangelove.

It is indeed. If you can ignore the glaring logic flaw in Signs, the movie is pretty good — nice atmosphere, etc. The Village has what I thought was a lame twist at the end, but again, he got some good suspense and atmosphere before that. LitW, though — ugh.

I'm glad to see a good review/recap of this episode because I'm not sure what I thought of it. I wasn't pleased with the whole "save John" thing if only because it seemed ridiculously complicated, although I know that's what this show does. And finding out that there was only saline in Sherlock's IV bag was something

"So this episode's villain is a quiet old lady briefly glimpsed in an early scene?"

I'm good with this. I've always thought Costner had a somewhat limited range, but that Westerns are smack in the middle of it. I think I've liked all of his except Wyatt Earp (which I found thoroughly boring). This could be worth watching.

Just watching this episode now and although I will probably finish out the season, I don't think I'll go back for more. Madison and Travis are stupid. I'm glad Chris is gone. Alicia deserves better. Pfffft.

I enjoyed the episode (really; but I have kind of low standards at times), but a few things left me… bemused, I suppose. Anyway, I didn't mind the episode although I'd agree it could have been shorter.

I think we have to remember this was 1983. Gender identity wasn't the thing then than it is now. To the boys, she was a girl, therefore she should dress like a girl. This is what they would think of. Despite her short hair and androgynous appearance, no one seems to have questioned that she is a girl that I recall.

I have one. I use it a lot, especially when it's too cold to grill outside and I don't want to pan-fry something. My kids take grilled chicken for lunch to school and I use that to cook it; also for hamburgers and hot dogs, when someones in the mood. For cleaning, you do need to get to it right away. I've found that

This show was the first that popped into my head. I watched every episode of every season, but have never been tempted to watch one when it was syndicated. My husband has the series on disc and again, never have I wanted to pop it in and watch.

He tried from time to time. It was erratic and sporadic.

The father had a heart attack and died, we're told. As for turning, that's never been specified and has probably been inconsistent Andrea's sister (Amy?) turned pretty quickly in season one, but it took at least a few minutes. But Shane turned very quickly after Rick killed him in season two.

I did not hate it, but I have not made any effort to see it again, so I guess it falls on my one-and-done list.

Because they had to wait until someone was there to see them. if no one sees you fall, what's the point? Infected — such drama queens.

All the characters are Japanese (except for the odd American one I can recall). To Japanese viewers, the characters look Japanese because that is the default for a Japanese viewer, just like for a caucasian person (like me), they look caucasian because I am and they don't look like what I think of as Asian or

My husband and I so wished Nic Cage had had a quick cameo as the Rider passing on his power to Robbie. That just would have been fun.

I don't think it would be self-indulgent. We are told how important it is to vote, right? But then it's made difficult in various ways and one of those is holding it on a work day when many people will have trouble getting to the polls. Especially people who do not get paid if they do not show up, and in states where

I know. That's just the idealist in me talking.
