I guess I'll have to finish watching "Arise" so I am, perhaps, less confused at some point. I finally got Borders 3 and 4 but haven't had a chance to see them, and I should probably rewatch 1 and 2. I can't tell if that will increase or decrease my potential confusion.

Okay but.. didn't they already reboot it with "Arise?" I get so confused…

Very true. I've seen the whole series. And it's not just this series, it's a trait of anime in general, and I'm not entirely clear why but I'm sure there are historical and cultural reasons. However, I don't see why someone like Rinko Kinkuchi couldn't play Kusanagi. OTOH, I think Johansson would do a good job. Plus,

    There's a new one? Cool.

I also read (but have not read the book or seen "Aloha") that Stone's character is based on a real person who has those physical characteristics. A woman who was 1/4 Asian, but there was no indication of it in her physical appearance.

I enjoyed this episode more than the first one, although I liked the premier okay. There was a little bit of fun, nostalgic though it might be, at watching the characters come together — Scully, Mulder, Skinner, etc. Too bad they can't bring back the Lone Gunmen.

Shyamalan is someone that I will give the benefit of the doubt to when it comes to his movies, although I'm warier about it all the time. But he did hit some high notes, and I'm willing to see if he can do that again.

Barbara Kean on "Gotham." The actress is fine, but they have no idea what to do with her and so the character does whatever the script says but there's no rhyme or reason to it. I realize the show has many other flaws, but they don't bother me near as much as she does. Second was probably Andrea on "The Walking Dead."

I am so glad I am not the only one who thinks so. I wonder who in the writer's room thought it would be a good idea to keep the main characters, who have such good chemistry, apart all the time. Because yeah, that worked. (No, no it didn't.)

I liked it; I was entertained. It was kind of a big sprawling mess, but I was entertained. And the shoot out at about the halfway point was exceedingly well done.

I saw Avatar but not in theaters (I love to see movies in theaters, but with kids, you can't always). I think it might have been the first movie we watched on our new flat-screen TV, on New Year's Eve that year.

There is a lot of dreary-looking settings, true. Worst is probably Frank's apartment. Plus the sun never seems to shine, I grant you that. However, if you stick with it, there is more variation, and I honestly think Rufus Sewell's character is one of the most interesting in the show. The Trade Minister, Tagomi, is

At least I didn't hear the phrase "hunt you down" in this episode. I was starting to think you could make a drinking game out of it, although you'd risk alcohol poisoning in some episodes.

Having two kids, I can say that I deal with this a lot, especially with my older son. Yes, violence is easier to explain. The motives are usually clear (hero v. villain), and you can probably even explain how some of it is done. Kids are exposed to violence early — we used to watch Bugs Bunny and the Road Runner, and

I feel like this show is so close to being really good, but I'm not sure how they should do it. I see two options. Either take itself more seriously and delve into this world and its characters; or, go full-tilt and embrace the crazy and make it nuts.

Just finished watching the series yesterday and no question, one of the best stories ever. More series should aim to tell a story over a period of time (remember when Babylon5 did that so long ago?), and keep their focus. Now I just need to get my husband to see it so I can watch it again…

Yes, that took me a minute. Because Romeo is Bleeding is very very bad.

My favorite exchange was between Strand and Nick.

I've actually had a few of these moments, related to either movies or songs. I'll skip most details, but:

"Before I go for this week, though: Are people really going to not say the word zombie, as they don’t on The Walking Dead?"
