That's an excellent point. The truth of the matter is, SNL has never been reliably funny, shrewd, or adept at social satire. But Trump is part of the generation that helped make it a cultural institution when it first entered the zeitgeist, and to him, it's far more relevant than whatever's dished up via web series or

Yeah, I think that was a factor. He kept glancing off camera and seemed to be reading his lines off cue cards, which kind of ruined the premise of the bit.

That is a valid question!

I'm fairly certain that DeVos doesn't have the authority to decide anything like that, because it would violate both the Americans with Disabilities Act as well as the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. Schools in this country are obligated to evaluate disabilities, and provide individual education plans

Ding ding ding.

I was part of my school's competitive D.A.R.E. trivia team in the sixth grade. There were only about five of us, and we traveled to these quizbowl events with teams from other schools. We were the reigning champions in our region because we took it THAT seriously.

Social media throws a wrench in that. Especially with popular shows, or shows that happen to be popular in your particular niche or demographic or whatever.

I was fourteen when I started reading HP books. It was a horrible, truly traumatic time in my life, and while the books were quite popular (this was around the time Goblet of Fire came out, before the movies had even been cast), they definitely weren't cool to be into as an adolescent. So they were my secret get-away

I know I have no right to feel so delighted about a show I haven't even seen getting cancelled, but… I do! It's hard to even explain the level of vitriol I have for this particular shit, but at least I'm not the only one.

I was blown away by how fully she embodied this particular character. Annie and Trudy are so feminine, the difference is striking when she disappears into this tomboy-ish early 80s look. Some of it has to do with hair and makeup, but a lot of it was how she carried herself, too. It's easy to forget how much that

Oh man, of course! I can't believe I forgot about that gem of true, fearless insanity.

I suspect it's just going to result in a lot of people who enjoy discussing these shows giving up on discussing them here. I'm not going to bother hanging around hoping to get "out of the grays" so anyone can even see what I'm saying.

By remaining married to the reverend, Kimmy made it impossible for Wendy to have conjugal visits, or any other special privileges that are afforded spouses.

My favorite rewatch joke: Perry telling Kimmy she can be anything, even a "unicorn."

Having rewatched this episode, I feel compelled to point out a few things.

I think Tina would be the first to point out she's not any more or less attractive than any other woman with a similar build and age. She looks fantastic when time, energy, and resources are put into her appearance (which the show noted on several occasions), but like most women, Liz didn't care enough to laboriously

Two thoughts:

Nm, what's up with you?

I hope she fired and then literally set fire to whatever stylist was like, "Katy, let's get rid of your iconic style that, at worst, merits comparisons to Zooey Deschanel, and instead go all-in on the MIley circa 2013. That worked out great for her, right? There won't be any blow-back rage on you, right?"

I was prepared for the worst, but… yeah. It's a pun.
