Good stuff, but I worry about the new villain's Sue-ish tendencies; the show is good at developing plots piecemeal, so hopefully she doesn't end up taking over the show.

"What, shut up, what?"

So many great bits in this. A flying sequence with elements of real terror but mostly pure joy. A soundtrack that wouldn't be out of place in a Final Fantasy game. Someone talks about being one with nature and the response is "Why would I want to do that?" which is a good question no one ever asks. The bit about

Stupid Charter made me wait a week for the episode to be available on demand.

Y'know, I was literally thinking before I saw this, "Y'know, they've about run to the end of this Hugo Strange as far as it can take them, how're they going to keep adding to the conspiracy when they finally bring him in?" And I thought, "Well, they could bring in the Court of Owls, say that Strange was reporting to

No, I get that, but six of one…It is a model of inclusivity, and while we might consider that an obvious approach to avoid excluding people arbitrarily and including distinct and interesting characters, some would see it as the show being beholden to PC standards of inclusivity.

Steven's reaction to the cluster, that sequence, was wonderfully upsetting. It's the great paradox of this show, the apotheosis of a trend in Western animation, that as cute as it is, there's this deeply disturbing layer threatening to break through at any time and that's wonderful. A show that very carefully seeks

Even if the rest of the episode was absolute garbage (it wasn't) Evil Andy Richter blowing up Galavan with a Bazooka had me laughing for what felt like a minute straight, that's an accomplishment.

Relatively certain that was a tortilla he was filling with ice cream (a "brrrito", if you will). I like Finn randomly clucking the stapler; it's a little touch that actors are good at adding in, but animators sometimes don't think to think of.

Personally, I could watch faces melt all day as long as they don't stab anyone else in the eye.

Normally, when someone says something felt long, it's a complaint. In this case, I mean it as a compliment: with the amount of stuff that happened, this felt like a two-part event, but the runtime counter says it was only an hour.

I could've stood to see, at the end, since Warren made $10,000 flipping the Tiki stuff, what if he split it with Bob? "Here's your share, $5000, no strings attached." On shows like this, where the cast is constantly on the brink of bankruptcy, you should let them have a little windfall every once in a while to

They could've stood to be a little less…pointy-outy about Lisa and the bacon. Either skip the lampshading entirely (leaving the gag an unspoiled treat for longtime viewers) or leave it to Lisa ("[deadpan]This was before I was vegetarian. [brightens] I had the arteries of a 20-year-old!").

I've thought A LOT about an Archer game, which would be fun just because of all the different sets of abilities all the characters would have. Hand-to-hand combat, durability, firing accuracy, driving skills, technical skills, languages, sex! Each of the characters have varying levels of competency established in

Can we talk about one shot? The camera zooming in on Cyril pulling the car in; it starts wide enough to be framed by the broken railings and ends close enough to get a good look at Cyril's expression, all in about one second. It's the precise climax of the episode, and setting aside how many layers and completely

Mr. Freeze's outfit could've stood to be a little less campy. I mean, he is a guy named "Mr. Freeze" running around with a freeze gun, he's going to be a little goofy, but the show should take more care that we don't see it as cheap plastic cosplay. It's a little too close to Schumacher's implausibly-cigar-chomping

I disagree about the stakes. I had a real sense of threat, both at the hospital and at Rosa's, but the humor was there too, which is an impressive balance. Things seemed to get resolved a little too easily, but the cliffhanger changed that.

Slight continuity error? Didn't Rainicorn's parents only get the translator boxes in the episode where they meet Jake? My universe is crumbling.

Until this episode, I assumed "ScarJoe" was just a nonsense name Gina made up.

I'd give this more like a A-. Highly Bullock-intensive front half. Nygma-vs.-Gordon cat-and-mouse. Penguin does something awesome.
