Yeah, CG Lash looks cool.

Adventure Time is, by it's nature, an uneven show; how well one can appreciate what it's trying to do can vary greatly from episode to episode. If you didn't like this one, you'll probably like the next two.

"Penguin does something cool" is one of the things that make the show worth watching. The Nygma portions had always been vexing, but this one was actually good. Not crazy original (there have been more instances of dissociative identity disorder on TV than there have been in real life), but good. And my stealth

Love the stealth-Ghostbusters reference.

My interpretation is that all future-visions of the Simpsons are equally true, and some dovetail nicely. Bart becoming Chief Justice of the Supreme Court agrees with an offhand comment demolition-worker Bart makes abut law school, and is made further plausible by Lisa's becoming president.

The other big song of which great use is made is the Amboy Dukes' "Journey to the Center of the Mind." In case anyone was wondering who this Ted Negent person is other than an asshole who talks about killing Hillary Clinton on Fox News.

Why does the Shapeshifter Guilt Trip trope work as often as it does? Statistically, there should be a number of times where an alien pretends to be someone's parent, spouse, whatever, and gets a face full of hot lead for their trouble, and the soldier is slightly disappointed it was an alien.

In addition to the War on Terror (I hate that that's what we're calling it; we elected someone with the emotional maturity of a four-year-old and let him name things; we're lucky we didn't end up having to call it the Big Stupid Poopypants War), it felt like there were allusions to the refugee crisis as well, with

In reality, seconds per year.

On a TV show? Massively.

OhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhShit.

It would make sense for him to have been on the planet for less than 14 years: if the surface gravity is higher there, time would be going slower.

"What's that toilet got that I don't?!"
"A job."
M'wah! Al Bacio!

Well, a huge part of it is they were ripping off Tales of the Gold Monkey, an adventure series that ran for one season in 1982/1983. Which seems even crazier.

One good thing about Coulson is he's essentially a comic book nerd in a comic book universe; so a laser finger is an entirely reasonable thing for him to have, but he could just as easily be joking. It's Schrödinger's laser finger.

I love when very distinct characters are weirdly in sync, and that's something that happens on this show all the time. And we learned one more thing Terry loves.

I actually really liked this episode. Nothing, even the Nygma scenes, seemed out of place or a waste of time. The Pike brothers were obviously unlikable, but we'll probably get to see them roasted alive next episode, so that's fine. Plus, Penguin has a plan, which is statistically the best part of the show. Even

That sounds like an Alka-Seltzer ad.

I disagree only 'bout the 4th-wall-pushing joke; and this week's wasn't that meta compared to last week's couch gag gag.

Doesn't "Pet Rock" better describe Pearls, apparently?
