LOVE Ice Haven. Might be my favorite Clowes. I think it would make a great movie, potentially, although I guess it's sort of like a short story collection and those don't always translate as well as individual stories.

It's on my list. It's one of those I've been putting off because I would prefer to see it on the big screen, which means waiting for it to turn up at a rep showing, which usually means finding out that it's playing a rep showing some time when I have something else I have to do. Goes double now that I have a kid. Same

I really like it but I'm a sucker for time-travel stuff (even though it's probably not strictly time travel).

I actually kind of hate Mulholland Drive!

Word, as they say.

I just rewatched a bunch of Minority Report on HBO the other night. It is SO GREAT.

Ah. Then I stand by my snark about how the whole movie has all of like four songs total. It's probably the least musical of the '90s Disney musicals!

Honestly, I feel like the most questionable judgment I make for either franchise is how much I like Star Trek: Insurrection.

Not such a bad year! Punch-Drunk Love, Adaptation, the first Spider-Man, Attack of the Clones (OK fine that's more of a me thing), About Schmidt, 25th Hour (!!!), Gangs of New York, Minority Report AND Catch Me If You Can… that's like half a dozen directors working at top level.

I KNOW. No MASH, either. But yes on Popeye, Ready to Wear, and Dr. T and the Women, so go figure.

NO TIES

NO

NO TIES especially not for the sake of Chicago.

Fucking Catalina wine mixer.

BUT YOU MADE IT. Somehow Blair Witch and October Sky were not so separable, eh?

2012 has Moonrise Kingdom, The Master, Looper, Dark Knight Rises, and the killer Magic Mike-Haywire combo… wait, wait. OK, I see. 2012 was a great year for movies seemingly designed for me to love them. (I also love Wreck-It Ralph.)

From what I've seen from '71, Last Picture Show all the way. If I'm being honest with myself about '75, it's Monty Python and the Holy Grail, though… [[whispers]] I haven't seen Nashville or McCabe.

NO TIES also go to the movies, there's a bunch of good stuff out
