Reviewing prestige TV is pointless without ZMF or those guys who would post reviews in the comments that were longer and better than the posts themselves. Plus nothing on TV currently “owns.” Succession and Righteous Gemstones are both good shows, but there’s not a lot of OWNAGE.*

What out-of-context quote from him from 25 years ago inspired this?

Stern, being Stern, immediately asked if Knoxville was “Suicidal?”

Or making a sentimental comedy about the Room?

I'm sorry if this is a dumb comment but, didn't humanity agree that Woman in the Window was already hilarious because its a car crash disaster of a movie?  Isn't this like making a parody of like, Troll 2?

Read Shattered: Inside Hillary Clinton’s Doomed Campaign by Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes.

I’d say the name of the episode is one huge spoiler.

Given what I know of some of Anderson’s views, and given the kind of perspective this review is pining for, I suspect her involvement might not have provided them with what they wanted.

“Americans hated Hillary Clinton so much, they voted for someone they hated more...just to rub it in.”

The Dirt is probably a good example.  It glossed over a LOT of Tommy Lee’s bad behavior and made him look like a giant drug-addled puppy.

Given the actual people involved and the lifestyle they led, it could still be an entertaining watch while falling short of any sort of meaningful contribution to the subject.

It seems like the review was essentially “This is good storytelling, so it earns a B-, but it could have been better IF Anderson had been consulted.”

“Keep at least one eye open, ‘cause Boba’s old pal Din Djarin just might pop in to...take over for a whole episode and remind everyone of the far superior show they wish they were watching. Hoo boy.

Exhibit A: Diversity only when we like all the diverse people.

You’re of course welcome to steer clear of media you’re not comfortable with. But this was a major story, about two very famous people, which raises interesting issues about the media, sexism, etc. It is fair game.

I don’t think in general it’s a good idea to directly involve the subjects of a show like this in the creative decisions about its production, and I’m surprised that the article advocates for it. The subjects of a story generally have one overriding interest — making sure they’re portrayed flatteringly — and it’s hard

And one of these days I’m going to get around to seeing it!

Brian May originally wanted half of the movie to be the heroic story of how the rest of the band managed to continue on without Freddie.

Dr. Brian May approved a script that made Freddie seem like a guy who sang in the band for a few years.

had a hunch that, considering rogen produced and he’s the biggest star in the thing, it would be a lot about him.
