He tweets like a regular person and it upsets people. Like those tweets aren’t any less ridiculous than my strong ass opinion on Pacific Rim.

I find the backlash on twitter, and the words spilled here (and I believe you guys have done this about him in the past), to be disporportionate to what he’s actually saying and doing. Like he makes a benign comment “if the movie “Gravity” was real, X and Y couldn’t have happened”. This results in 30000 tweets saying…
I... I don’t know that I’ve ever read or heard such a scathing condemnation of someone expressing the notion that language is best used with care and not warped in an unwitting effort to make everything seem better. Yes, “awesome” as a euphemism for “above average” is part of modern usage, but I interpret Tyson’s…
It’s actually a fun story. It was a PBP game on an online forum, and originally started as a much more lighthearted game run by someone else that, sadly, never really got off the ground. It was a higher-tech and somewhat more fantastical setting, and the Holden in that game was a wealthy, spoiled, but capable leader…
Have you seen a Colbert monologue? Or The Daily Show? Do you know how comedy/news hybrids work? I mean, you can just watch CNN.
Meanwhile, all of the company’s fabled “Toys R Us kids” will be forced to suddenly grow up, with horrifically rapid results as they advance to their proper ages.
Hey, I might not succeed, but we can always try! We’re all just doing our best.
Now, William, we both know that’s not true.
Thanks for the feedback! I’ll try to do better next time.
Hey, so a lot of people are going to keep beating up on you because it’s the internet, but I think it’s great that you can hear some criticism, even phrased unkindly, and live with it, and that you can apologize when you have to. I don’t know what else anyone would ask of you, except maybe helping your web site…
I’m not defending Kinja as much as I am bemused by the AVC OGs who just can’t or won’t either A) Get over it or B) Leave the site. Kinja sucks, we all kinda know that. But I’ve used Disqus as well and it’s no picnic either. MOST commenting systems suck. And some people just want to complain.
Can you quote the phrase “Fuck you”? Isn’t it a little too ubiquitous and vague? That’s like me saying “Good morning! Copyright.”
“Ya goddam babies” vs dozens and dozens of lengthy paragraphs about how kinja sucks and AVC used to be so great (not disagreeing, incidentally). Yep, it’s totally the same.
Am I the only one around to remember the move *to* Disqus a decade or so ago and that AV Club had their own comments system before that?
Yeah, what mainly happened is the old community spent soooooo much time maundering about down in the comments—mostly repeating lines from the Simpsons—they started to think they worked here. They found out they didn’t and got salty. Mad salty.
OG Gawker reader here just absolutely *adoring* all the pissing and moaning about the AVC move to kinja. Ya goddam babies...
Why did you just salute me twice? I’m not in the military (though I do feel like I’ve been through the wars since November 9 2016).
Dear God... You can’t be serious.
Uh, he eavesdropped on Poe. That was literally on screen.
A basic understanding of physics covers that. The explosion was sucked into the vacuum, minimizing damage to the interior. Humans can survive in open vacuum for at least 2 minutes (she was out there for 1:49).
