He acts like someone who hasn't done any spy shit before, which, you know, is what he was. Untrained people in intense situations often do irrational things. This is, of course, pretending that doing exactly what your told over the phone by someone you've never met is a rational thing.

If the idiots at Fox actually sign Simon Kinberg to direct, it's pretty much guaranteed to be crap. Hopefully, the failure of The Mummy teaches them not to put someone who has never directed anything in the director's chair just because they were a producer on some hits.

It was weightless because they actually sped up a lot of the shots. It will always make vehicles look like toys when you do that.

Because, as we all know, white supremacists definitely don't have a presence in prison or the meth trade, right? How dare the show besmirch the reputation of those simple law abiding citizens!

I think it's more relevant now, than then. This movie came out in that short period between 9/11 and the Iraq War when the US was considered the good guy. And government surveillance wasn't on anyone's radars (although that played a much bigger part in the sequels.)

Glenn Greenwald worked for the Guardian when he published Snowden's leaks of the American security apparatus, so I'd say that part of the movie was actually pretty prescient.

They didn't use Hurt.

So were Leno's post-Conan ratings, plus he did worse in the 18-49 demo than Conan. And that's without the terrible lead-in that Conan had.

This comment is pretty funny, now that we know the reality.

Unless it's Powerless.

You forgot a certain tea sipping frog

Bullshit excuse. US has not issued a warrant for his arrest, so there's nothing to extradite him for. And Sweden doesn't extradite nationals for political offences, which is what espionage falls under.

Star Wars?

The problem with your rant is that he liked the sixth one.

He gets his game on.

None of those were hagiographies.

"There was a time when even if a movie might suck, the AV Club would excited for it,"

Uh, it's the complete opposite of self-importance. Half the column is him admitting that nothing he does matters in the grand scheme of things.

Or just put it on hiatus. Other columns have no problems doing an entry per year.

Uh, you know that Trump put Bannon on the National Security Council, right? Or, do you think that is totally something that Pence would have done?
