It seems like you are criticizing science fiction for being science fiction? I can actually kind of understand, since the film portrays more real science than most science fiction films, but the "fiction" was there from the very beginning. You had someone communicating through gravity anomalies, and Michael Caine

I'm pretty sure the film stated outright that the other beings' primary goal was to get Cooper into Gargantua so that he could obtain the information needed to send to Murph. The habitable planets seemed secondary (or maybe they were used to lure the humans in the first place?)

They actually used surprisingly little CGI, especially compared to today's films. Everyone remembers the CGI in the Smith fight, but they don't realize that it was pretty much limited to three sequences. The rest was a bunch of guys in Hugo Weaving masks.

Religion, bitch!

YouTube subscriptions are in no way comparable to NYT subscriptions. You have to pay actual money ($5 a week) if you want to subscribe to the online version of NYT, while YouTube subs take a single click of a button. If she started charging $20 a month for her videos, you would see a significant drop in subscribers.

This must take place off the coast of Australia.

You can pretty much get unlimited free movies if you are willing to set up a new email account for each one.

It worked in Metal Gear Solid so well because it took something you've been doing to whole game, and having you do it in a new context. You press square (or x for the Xbox version) to shoot soldiers, and you use that same button to shoot that character at the end. In fact, there aren't even any button prompts, it just

Maybe I'm just a dumb, but I don't see how Eugene being a scientist was so implausible, at least within the context of this show. I just thought he was a less antagonistic Sheldon Cooper-type. You know, very smart, but unable to take care of himself when things get real. And a Sheldon Cooper-type would keep something

That woman channels the spirit of Tim Heidecker.

That movie had a bunch of CGI.

How does a kid with Japanese heritage who is born and raised in the US sound, anyway.

You seem to be implying that because people always talk about specific scenes in those movies when they are brought up, that they didn't actually like the rest. But you could apply that to many respected films, like There Will Be Blood (drainage!) and No Country for Old Men (Chugur.)

CEDA called the L4D infection a 'flu' as a cover up to reduce mass panic. I think it's safe to say that when a person's flesh goes necrotic, they're no longer "sick people," they're effectively dead unless you have made some huge advances in medical science.

I'm not going to say the film was scientifically rigorous, but he had a set of rules that mostly made sense. IIRC, the amount of exercise he got was limited to the average amount that Americans get. And he had to order something different each time, which included the healthier stuff, like salads.

My theory is that it's due to his films' scores. They aim to evoke mood or underline tension, and he actively avoids sweeping, hummable, John Williams-like scores that basically tell you what to feel.

Maybe it was too subtle, but I think the film cutting to a Tumbler driving over a snow covered Gotham where before it was clear was supposed to indicate time passing. Plus, the characters were talking like the had hours, rather than months, to solve the problem.

I don't think Cabin is admonishing the audience as much. Funny Games (at least the American version, which is all I saw,) was about force feeding you as much misery as possible and denying any sort of catharsis, while basically telling you how much of a sick puppy you are for watching it. It appeared to me to be a

So who, exactly, is excusing all of that? People are objecting to Muslims being painted with the broadest possible brush. Unlike Muslims, Christians and Jews are afforded nuance (at least by anyone who matters.)

Ollie North? Are you kidding with that example? Someone in North's position of power would NEVER face anywhere near the sort of consequences of someone like Snowden, and North knew it. You do know that he never actually went to prison, right?
