Back in the day, I saw the Grateful Dead many (over 30, I think) times, including both Brent and Jerry's last shows.

How about Van Halen at one of the backyard keg parties in Pasadena?

very first concert I saw…Zevon opening for Jackson Browne. Must have been '77 or so.

Guess I'm lucky…or old…or both, but I managed to see a lot of the groups mentioned here (Prince in '88, Bowie in '91, Thin Lizzy back in '79, Miles Davis in '87, The Who in '80, James Brown a few different times), but my number one regret is Talking Heads. Sadly, during their prime I was living in areas (New Mexico,

One of the first concerts I saw, way back in '79, was a Day On The Green with Journey, J. Geils, UFO, Thin Lizzy, and Nazareth. On the 4th of July.

St Elmo's Fire. When Rob Lowe's character was having his big sax solo, I turned to my friend and said "Beh", and we got up and walked out.

After seeing him be a total dick/diva ("dickva"?) at the KEXP benefit show in December, I am very reluctant to give this a listen.

But here in Seattle, its pretty hilarious seeing print ads in the Sunday Seattle Times for a store called "#HashTag", with a group of women sitting around having lunch with glasses of white wine, and advertising a "Pleasantly Elevated Experience".

Wubba Wubba Wubba!

After seeing him play a 45 minute long set of piano dirges (including telling the people at the bar "shut the fuck up") at the KEXP benefit show this past Christmas, he will forever be known as Father John BuzzKill…

I saw U2 as an opener, in the spring of 82. The headliner? J. Geils Band.

Janice on the Sopranos. On rewatch, all of her scenes get the fast forward.

Went to see At The Drive In a few years ago just so I could see Future Of the Left as the openers. Also went to a Day On The Green in '79, seeing Nazareth, Thin Lizzy, UFO, J. Geils Band, and leaving before the headliner, Journey. But the best was going to see J. Geils in spring of '82, with a little known band out

I went to see We Were Promised Jetpacks as the opener, and ended up sticking around for the next two bands, mainly because I had half-full beers when they came on. So I saw Twilight Sad, who were pretty good, and then was blown away by Frightened Rabbit.

Bad first date movies?
