They were so awesome they joined up with Rambo!

She should bring Mel and Sue on board … if only because I've got kind of a weird thing for Sue Perkins.

Hey fellow commentators who came of age in the Reagan era … remember when the media would show examples of the kind of news being published by Pravda? And it was all so laughably divorced from reality and everybody had a good chuckle about how gullible the Russian people must be? Good times …

I for real went to high school with a dude named Armand Rist.

Oh I'm quite familiar* (which prompted my "of course"). It just seems like a topic that the typical Morning Zoo types shouldn't get anywhere near if they can't refrain from being shitty.

You see, that initial exchange could have led to an interesting discussion about the challenges of the trans community in establishing romantic relationships with non-trans people. Questions of ethics, questions of personal safety, how an individual being post op, pre op, or non op can completely change the dynamic

We've got that on DVD from a dude online who used to do fairly decent quality transfers from first-generation VHS tapes. We bought maybe two dozen of those things from him prior to the streaming era.

Good lord, I've had to sit though the trailer for that stupid-looking Will Farrell/Marky Mark movie twice in the last month and both times I needed to keep myself from laughing out loud when they introduce grizzled, tired-looking Mel Gibson coming down the escalator while teenage girls look at him and swoon. Hey, I occasionally use that thing! Granted it's only when the power goes out and I need to look up the PG&E "how long is this shit supposed to last?" number, but still …

*munches popcorn*

It's bizarre how it starts out kind of harrowing, and then it dawns on you that this is a lonely middle-aged woman pretending to be a 22-year-old assault victim, and by the end she's just complaining about her marriage.

U.S.S.A is a great way to give yourself the fear in that condition … if you're into that kind of thing. Also 22 Going on 23 is a bizarre fucking journey.

We saw Wonder Woman in its third week and there was a little girl, maybe 8 years old, in line in front of us wearing a Wonder Woman cape. She was so adorable that we couldn't bring ourselves to spin her around and yell "Wonder Woman doesn't wear a CAPE! GOD!"

The guitar redeems it, I think.

I was chauffeuring a friend around once who was on acid and I put on "Kuntz". Oddly enough we were still friends after that.

Probably my favorite too. They embraced the disturbing and mostly ditched the punk (briefly anyway).

Yeah, but Jane's Addiction …! Oh, right.

That would be a good way to go. It's weird but accessible. Then work your way back. I can't imagine what it would be like to hear something like "Concubine" unprepared.

Teaching a dude bass guitar once, and to help him remember the strings I came up with Eat A Dick, Grandma.

*ducks behind battlement*
