The rear naked choke hold was an appropriate choice for Daniel according to the context.

1967, I've been waiting for a "Graduate" reference.

You forgot the quotidian struggles of encountering human poop the instant you are outside the mecca of human civilization.

I agree, but for me it was harder to tell if his calmness was a circustance of his prison time or if that is just the way he is.

I was really hoping for a high definition "Shoooooorrryuken" and watch Aden Young's eyes light up. I don't know if it was intentional, but in the deep south, Daniel had little disregard towards the color of his young Sega mentor; I feel it reflects his relationship in jail, but I'm not sure.

must go on

I think a few more scenes like the one he had with Ted Jr. might start to paint a different picture of him. However, I don't think that the point of the show is to sway viewers one way or another with a roller-coaster of 'he did it" - "he didn't do it". Just the dynamic between the advocates of Daniel and the accusers

I'm not usually an advocate of flashbacks in serials, especially in shows like Rectify, where so much is conveyed without direct dialogue. And I don't even think this would be that great for the show, but I would love a 45 minute long flashback to Daniel at 17. A day of duck hunting with his dad, thrashing to Nirvana

It's not so much as the cheating that is important, but Don's attitude towards the cheating.
