It seems to me, the last twenty years just haven't been very good for comedy in films. I mean, there's no 'Raising Arizona' or 'Man With Two Brains' or 'Airplane'. For me, Will Ferrell is just another in a long line of 'shouting childy-men' that Hollywood defaults to (and started with Jerry Fucking Lewis').

Then all is well!

Was The Royal Tenenbaums' on the original list?

'Freddy Got Fingered'? Nathan Rabin should be sacked. Again. Over and over again. An infinite loop of a little man with otterish shoulder and nazi scientist specs being sacked.

I read that post in the high pitched screech of Yeardly Smith.

Ah, this is one of those American things that isn't intrinsically witty or funny but because it's from their childhood, the reader is intended to regard it as noteworthy. It's related to the larger infantilisation of American low culture.

This sure is going to be interesting and new.

"Chinese actor Jiang Wen gave away a major plot point involving the relationship between his character, cynical mercenary Baze Malbus, and Donnie Yen’s spiritual warrior Chirrut Imwe. We won’t repeat it here"

which character?
