Uh, I'm sure this has been mentioned before though I haven't seen it, but isn't that the plot of The Dark Knight?

The only one I care about is Jessica Jones. I'm tired of Marvel tie-ins, I just want a good character-driven show.

I'm not making excuses at all.

You know, it's possible that Trump is so egotistical and/or dumb, that he really doesn't understand the context of this, along with how closely some of his advisers seem to be linked to one form of white supremacism or another. His daughter converted to Judaism in order to marry her husband, who is one of his closest

Man I didn't think it was possible to make a gritty reboot of American History X but here we are. Also, F- these people.

Ooh I'm sorry, the answer we were looking for was: CUT MY LIFE IN TWO PIECES

"What a surprise that Nigel Farage has endorsed the new fantasy-disguised-as-historical war film, Dunkirk. Christopher Nolan’s movie is an inadvertently timely, thinly veiled Brexiteer fantasy in which plucky Britons heroically retreat from the dangerous shores of Europe. Most importantly, it pushes the narrative that

Just ask the NAACP…

This is the logical conclusion of the privilege concept. It's just a way of undermining someone's argument without going through the trouble of making a counterargument. It's intellectually dishonest.

The backlash is the entire point for some people. Writing race-based narratives is what some people make their money off of, at Breitbart and elsewhere.

This is great. You're taking the original argument that this movie didn't accurately portray history, when that argument is shot down your argument is that the movie should not have accurately portrayed history.

Was he wrong in that though? You don't have to be in any way conservative to think OWS was a joke.

No, it doesn't. You are truly making an applies and oranges fallacy. "Well if you look at it this way, they are both round and grow on trees".

I'm blown away to see a comment this on-point this close to the top. These labels are usually taken almost immediately and applied to pretty much everyone whenever there's a disagreement. I've seen various Jewish figures denounced as alt-right by the same type of people who insist that alt-right is a synonym for

Great points.

But I've heard several times from writers and commenters here that when Trey Parker and Matt Stone came to the same conclusion with South Park they were gutless evil libertarian alt righters. Of course it gets boring when it's no longer comedy for the sake of laughter but comedy for the sake of applause. By all means

Fully agreed. Wonder Woman was a good superhero movie, as was Guardians of the Galaxy 2, and many others. Not really Oscar quality but so much more enjoyable than The Theory of Everything, The King's Speech, and a host of other boring awards bait.

"Deidre Ball was unhappy with her husband’s “naked political ambition” and desire to transform himself from a successful New York entrepreneur into a Washington insider."

This is terrible, like most of Vox's stuff. It's like upscale Buzzfeed.

Yeah these "The King's Speech"-style bios are usually boring as hell.
