As Nigel keeps saying, it's not America's BEST dancer, it's America's most POPULAR dancer. Infuriating, yes, but this is the format of the show. My heart isn't in this anyway, not since Will was voted off, so do your worst, I don't care anymore.

Did you notice how every male high bar competitor came up and congratulated the insane Flying Dutchman after he finished his routine? The German who ended up with silver was close to kissing him, and the American was all "Wow, that was amazing!". That's how you accept defeat, Maroney, gracefully and with your head up…
Romania started with uneven bars which is their biggest weakness, but they made up for most of it with solid performances at beam and especially vaults; you were shown their lowest ranking routine and that was pretty much it (personally I thought Ponor's beam routine was superb, she got smtg like 15.400 for it).

The Russian gymnasts were crying mostly because they were afraid they'd lose the silver medal rather than because they lost their shot at the gold, they were never close to beating the American team.
