This is taken in the United Center locker room after Game 6 of the 1997 NBA Finals, after the Bulls won the title. (Source: Caption at Getty Images). There's another photo in which it is clear the light blue shirt guy is a sportswriter. The purple suit Lite Beer guy isn't identified, sadly. Mancow is a good guess

Installing DOOM on the LAN at school.

My parents are split politically, so they watch CNN as a compromise when newsy stuff is happening in the world. CNN's hot-mess attempt to be middle-of-the-road may very well have driven them to HGTV.

I remember learning in middle school geography that everything from Cairo, Ilinois south is "the delta". I don't recall exactly why though without a visit to Wikipedia.

Uecker: underrated great baseball announcer
Strathairn: underrated great tragic baseball performance as Black Sox ace Eddie Cicotte in Eight Men Out.
Newman: also a very talented auto racer, winning races well into his AARP years

Lousy stupid Peak TV.

Quite possibly the most positive C- review ever.

Air conditioning and bathrooms that only shared by a handful of people instead of an entire floor. KINGS!

Best not contemplate the standard syphilis treatment of the time.

But whatever ended up in the trash bin looked more like a slip of paper to me…it was a hard cover book, which I presume he must have checked out of the police library or whatever, which would make throwing it out an odd choice other than for dramatic purposes. But he did definitely put the envelope in his suit
