Probably not, no. But, to be honest, the visual quality on the discs far outstrips what you get from streaming video or over your cable line. It's just gorgeous. Add to that the commentary and I think it's worth the asking price.

He's great in the Blu-Ray/DVD commentary, actually. Consistently funny and entertaining. Although when he and Lena Headey are on together, they basically just giggle the whole time.
I thought the three main theories were:
Martin has confirmed that Howland Reed will appear at some point. It's unclear if he means in one of Bran's visions, or if he means contemporaneously with the main characters, though.
Steve.
Two people doing actual kendo/kenjutsu is a LOT closer to the fight between Darth Vader and Obi-Wan Kenobi in the original Star Wars. The movements are more restrained, to keep from over-extending and opening up one's guard or being off-balance. Footwork is key. But yeah, kinda boring to watch, and not at all…
Actually, you'd probably use a tanto for seppuku.
Yeah, that would've worked better for reaslism's sake. Also, it'd make sense that three guys in the Kingsguard — back when that really meant something — could hold out against seven soldiers who were decent enough fighters, but not Kingsguard material.
Some of it made sense, in that you'd want to keep moving against that many opponents and use your swords as a barrier, but it did seem a bit over choreographed.
Came here for the Troll 2 references. Was not disappointed.
I agree that it's more likely to be appreciated in hindsight, although I think he probably still could've provided more of a sense of closure/finality in Books 4-5. Instead, almost everything ends on a cliffhanger. Also, my recollection is that there are a TON of chapters in both books that end on fake cliffhangers,…
I absolutely agree. Although it may also be that the ideas/stories/beats he's hit in Books 4-5 will prove to be entirely relevant and meaningful, and the real problem is just that he ran out of room to tie them up at the end of Book 5.
I agree that, certainly the first time you read the books, it's handled in a way that feels like a complete waste of time at worst, and a massive tease/troll at best. Ultimately, I think the blog (probably) accurately explains why this stuff matters.
Yeah, I don't think the issue is Emelia Clarke's acting. I think she's quite good, actually. I think the real issue is the material they give her and the way audiences view it.
I predict it will be Reek/Theon who ultimately kills him. It's part of the poetic justice strain we're seeing. Roose Bolton, the betrayer, betrayed by his own flesh and blood. Ramsey Bolton, the sadist, killed by the creature he created and over which he thought he had full control. I expect Reek/Theon to die in…
Remember when he was rumored to be on the short list for Anakin Skywalker at one point?
Side note: he's surprisingly fantastic in the latest season of Bosch on Amazon.
PARADIGM!
That's a level of internet insider baseball that I don't realy get. The Redpill thing I get, but not 8chan. Not that it matters, of course.
Mens' Rights Advocates, although Meat Regurgitating Asshats isn't too far off the mark.
