I don't know why DC insists on complexity/moral grayness in their movies. When Man of Steel tried to do it, they made Superman a dick who commited genocide on his own race and sacked Smallville and Metropolis.

I get that it's softcore porn, but I love that movie. The longing gaze in the plaza while carribean street musicians play their instruments is so pretty I teared up. Same with the awkward encounter with the friend in the bathroom. And those sex scenes looked like fucking paintings (no pun intended).

I, for one, enjoy the weekly storms of nerd rage on Sava's reviews. It's more entertaining than the shows themselves.

I really am loving this show from just the two episodes I've seen so far. However, watching it is absolutely brutal. I guess it's because the subject matter is handled so differently, because I watched Jessica Jones with detatched glee, while every episode of gives me a near panic attack from the levels of discomfort

Jamie/Greg would also be acceptable.
The aging widower chasing the hot young mailman to feel young again.

Still holding out for Sour Cream/Buck.

You're amazing! Do you read 1000+ page books or just the normal 300-500 range?

When they came to my town they dueted hotline bling. Probably the best 3 minutes of my 2015.

Blue Diamond was really fucking cool. Kind of a Madonna figure as opposed to Yellow Diamond's Warrior. I want to see more of her.

The "I look foward to seeing you after I reform on Homeworld" line reminded me of how creepily unafraid the Cylons on BSG were of dying.

So this weekend I read The AV Club's Top 10 movies and decided to watch a few…

Cloverfield, San Francisco, Vulcan. JJ loves his destruction porn.

The first half of this movie was great, and really sold Finn and Rey.
However the second half's action sequences were just a little too generic and not really exciting enough to make up for the retread of A New Hope.
It still deserves the B though. But the recycled Death Star and recycled Emperor made the third act dip

Just got back too!
Here's my take. While the prequels are horrible, they were based on ambitious ideas (i.e. underwater city, galactic roman empire, stylized jedi/sith combat).
This was executed just about as well as anybody could have, but it lacked any original ideas.

What are the best FOCs written on here, in your opinion?
Also, how do you decide what goes on the best TV/movies end-of-year lists?

What a time to be alive when AVClub discusses queer subtext in Charlie's Angels.

Haha I guess.
I think Japanese people tell stories with different direction, pacing, writing,
art, and just a different perspective than Americans.
Making a live action version with such a boring director and popular actress would remove everything that's so weird and gorgeous about the original. So much of the

I agree with you just cause this guy looks bland, and Tom Holland is hot.
A Static movie starring with Jaden Smith would be great.

Yeah.
They're still rebooting Twin Peaks aren't they?
Why can't the 90s catch a break?

GITS starring ScarJo and now this. I'm honestly kind of fascinated as to how these western adaptions of anime/manga will turn out.
