Nope.
Nope.
In all seriousness, the vast majority of people have at least some libertarian views. I know I do. I have some conservative views and some liberal as well. Despite what your average media conglomerate will tell you, the average American is actually moderate in their politics.
I don't think Francis and Robert are equally wrong in terms of infedelity. I took Francis reaction to be at first giddy at the prospect of not being the sole bad guy. She finally has something she can throw back at him, regardless of its weight. But then it unraveled into the whole 9/11 story, and how he covered up…
I'm sorry. That sucks.
I know, right?!
DON'T HAVE KIDS IF YOU CAN'T AFFORD PRIVATE SCHOOL YOU FUCKING IDIOT
I think we're to understand that the villagers are bigots. And those who question the status quo of eugenics are shunned and pushed out of the community, like the guy in the farmhouse.
I hope someone tweets this guy asking if he thinks his physical appearance helped him to get this role. It's just not that often you see someone so uncannily beautiful in Black Mirror, really.
I guess it depends on your idea of easy. Honestly, a good lawyer could argue that uncontested divorce alone is grounds for an annulment.
I didn't figure it out until he was smelling the grass.
This was really a perfect episode of Black Mirror in that it conveys the message of technology not being the problem, but man's use of it so clearly.
Sati? I hardly knew ye!
Indeed. I had mentioned last week that I really think most people would just be embarrassed by being in Westworld.
They've already established that disease no longer exists. But we have no reason to believe birth control no longer exists.
The writers are hand-waiving that by saying the hosts are programmed with a "Good Samaritan" reflex. They're essentially supposed to steer guests away from danger without breaking character, even if the character intends harm to all. (Like the saloon robbers.)
Of course Muhammed owned slaves. It was the sixth century and everyone with the means owned slaves. Do you think slavery is a relatively recent institution? What did you think the Jews were before Moses came along?
Fascinating. I had no idea.
Oh, I know. I think "Why is Mary Crying?" was one of the most offensive things I've ever read. It really was astonishing how much Chick got wrong, inflated and misinterpreted about Catholicism. But that's not all that unusual, really. There are plenty of people who simply misunderstand Catholicism. (Lots of people…
I think one would need a large enough population of people who are open to Chick's message to distribute them. And in a city the size of L.A. there's probably quite a few. I grew up in and around New Orleans, and I think the tracts that were left around here were likely just thrown away when found.
I hated it when I got tooth paste on Halloween. But the idea of kids getting these tracts while trick or treating is the saddest thing I've ever read.
