Exactly! Though I think Nick is going to stick around for a while. Either because he'll turn out to be a Carl (a selfish tween who needs a lot of saving, thus never dies) or because he has a lot of street smarts and survival instincts and good reflexes (like running Calvin over).

I don't know anything about film, but I think TWD needed that gritty aesthetic because, as you said, it complements the show (rotten walkers, sweaty people, overgrown cities, the South). In FTWD everything is still clean and normal and civilized , so it seems to me this kind of film complements that?

I agree on all of it except the Why part, because I just watched this movie and am thoroughly creeped out and I don't really want to add aliens to the equation. I'd rather think Danson (that creeperrrrrrrr) had semi-good intentions and wanted to only let great couples back into the world (he did kind of look saddened
